Lovely winter morning in Wales .... I take a wee detour to pop into speedy cables to get Cruinneag’s original engine gauges and cables refurbished!
Old school and just a wee bit special ...... ... See MoreSee Less
This past week saw us move Cruinneag inside the big shed here in Ardrossan, Scotland for the winter. Much of the major demolition and dirty works are now over and it’s time to put her back together and replace the layers of varnish which were trashed being outside during the refit. In order to get her in through the shed door we had to remove the main deckhouse and use rollers to guide her into a very tight fit! We managed to crush several rollers under the weight and tare up the track also! Nail biting stuff but all went well in the end and she and her spars are all safely out of the sever Scottish weather now. I look forward to relaunching her again in May 2018 looking magnificent and ready to sail the world again !
Thank you for all your likes and words of support, I bit off far more than I could chew with this refit and it has been a depressingly long and expensive journey but I see light at the end of the tunnel, as one visitor said “ that’s not a fight nick .... it’s a war!”
More updates to follow and see you on the water next year 👍 ... See MoreSee Less
